TASC's Center for Health and Justice (CHJ) is a pioneer in the field of deflection and pre-arrest diversion, and a founding partner of the Police, Treatment and Community Collaborative (PTACC), the national voice of and nation’s knowledge leader in deflection and pre-arrest diversion. 

Through collaborative partnerships between law enforcement, fire, EMS, treatment providers, and the recovery community, programs across the nation are working to deflect or divert individuals with substance use disorder to treatment and recovery and away from traditional avenues, such as emergency departments or jail. CHJ has defined pathways that represent common elements of these new models in first responder response.

Law enforcement is on the front lines of being part of the solution to a wide variety of behavioral health issues confronting their communities, and CHJ has been there from the start to provide solutions that best respond to their needs, while promoting public safety and officer well-being.

Whether communities are confronting drug use, mental illness, trauma, or a need for housing and other services, CHJ will bring to bear its internationally recognized action planning to develop practical solutions that fit the local context of the community.
