As a Program Manager for the Department of Justice's Second Chance Act (SCA) at the Center for Health and Justice (CHJ), Miriam oversees consulting, training, and technical assistance for both corrections and community-based SCA grantees nationwide. She supports grantees by providing resources through coaching and needs assessments to help them achieve their project goals.

Before joining TASC, Miriam served in the Peace Corps in the Municipality of Escazu, Costa Rica. Her longest tenure was as Senior of Training and Technical Assistance at the U.S. Breastfeeding Committee, where she managed in-person and virtual events, including the annual national conference, webinars, networking events, and capacity-building trainings for advocates.

Miriam earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science, with double minors in International Studies and Gender and Women's Studies, from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She later completed her master's degree in International Public Service at DePaul University. An advocate for human rights, Miriam looks forward to further advancing her career in the criminal justice field.
